Libyan President said the attack resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans at the American consulate in Benghazi is a planned terrorist attack.
In an interview Wednesday with the U.S. television network NBC News, President Mohammed el-Magarief said the attack had nothing to do with the protests against the anti-Islam film.
U.S. officials also said the attack happened earlier this month as an act of terrorism. The attack took place on the anniversary of the tragedy of 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks in America.
The incident took place when thousands of Muslims hold protests against a video made anti-Muslim film-maker in America.
In his speech Tuesday at the UN General Assembly, U.S. President Barack Obama called amateur video was rude and disgusting, but it says it can not justify an attack on an embassy.
