Appeal Court frees 14 Egyptian activists teenage daughter, who was originally sentenced to 11 years in prison as a result of involvement in the demonstration in October. Reuters reported, citing a source in the Egyptian court. The activist's daughter arrested for disturbing the security and damage property during a demonstration supporting the deposed president, Mohamed Morsi derived from Islamic circles. The arrest of these young people has angered Egyptian opposition supporters and human rights groups.
Gamal Eid, a human rights activist said the charges are politically motivated against female protesters. "There is no independent judiciary in Egypt," he told Reuters. "They (the judges) look at the background of the young women and not the action taken. Now, they have tried to fix the first decision and more sense," he continued.
In a separate case, the Court Morsi Egypt frees 155 supporters were arrested for committing acts of violence and destruction of property in the protests in Egypt on national holidays, October 6th ago.
The protest is a sensitive issue in a country of 85 million people, where the power of the people has helped topple two presidents in less than three years. Last month, while government-backed Egyptian military has issued strict regulations to limit protests by requiring a police permit for any public gathering of more than 10 people.
