U.S. Military Officers Who Tripped Scandal

Washington - sex scandal that led to the resignation of David Petraeus, the former director of the CIA, the public continues to be the talk of the United States. Almost all media skinning an unusual relationship that exists between him and his biographer Paula Broadwell. 

Petraeus may be the highest-ranking military officers who stumble scandal. However, he was not the first and not the only U.S. military officers who resigned for reasons not beautiful.

Some senior officials in recent months have been investigated or derived for inappropriate behavior, including sexual violence, corruption, or lack of good judgment. 

Here are seven U.S. military officers who stumble scandal, as reported by ABC News:

David Petraeus 
David Petraeus stepped down as head of the CIA and admitted to having an extramarital affair. Although, he did not name the woman, many sources say the other woman is his biographer Paula Broadwell. The affair was revealed when the FBI launched an investigation on Broadwell email sent to another woman, Jill Kelley, a woman who is also close to the four-star general. Petraeus is one of the most admired military leaders of his generation. He was considered successfully led the U.S. mission in Iraq and Afghanistan. 

John Allen
FBI investigation that led to the resignation'' Petraeus inadvertently reveal evidence that General John Allen, commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, has sent tens of thousands of emails "potentially inappropriate" for a woman who is not his wife. According to law enforcement sources, Allen sends 20,000 to 30,000 messages, partly explained by the source as "inappropriate" and "girlish" to Jill Kelley, the woman who complained to the FBI and led to the resignation of Petraeus. Allen denies that he and Kelley had an affair.

William Ward 

Other four-star general, William Ward, who led U.S. forces in Africa, suffered demotion, demoted alias. Ward was the subject of an investigation for a year for allegedly spending tens of thousands of dollars for the cruise and luxury residential motel, and use official aircraft to bring their family members around the world. He was ordered to pay U.S. $ 82,000. 

Stanley McChrystal 
In 2010, Stanley McChrystal, a general who led international forces in Afghanistan, gave a statement of apology after a magazine interview with her and her staff openly mock civilian leaders, including Vice President Biden. He was then drawn to Washington to meet with Obama. After the resignation of McChrystal, was replaced by General David Petraeus. 

James Johnson
In June, James Johnson was expelled from the army and forced to pay a fine after a court found her guilty of adultery, bigamy and cohabitation - all military offenses - by having an affair with an Iraqi woman. 

Jeffrey Sinclair 
Before news of the affair broke Petraeus, the scandal that rocked the military is the case of Brigadier General Jeffrey Sinclair. Former deputy commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan is facing a military trial on charges of conducting a series of sex crimes involving four female soldiers and a civilian. The case is still rolling in military court.
