As known earlier, the discovery of this affair makes Petraeus should resign from office. Withdrawal of four-star general is what raises the question of many.
Newspaper columnist for The Washington Post, Andrew Napolitano said that Petraeus urged to retreat to silence him about the attack on Benghazi. The man who is also a former judge in the state of New Jersey, compared the case to the case Petraeus experienced by two former U.S. president.
"Many high-ranking officials involved in adultery scandal as former John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton, but they all do not get to resign. Why now Pertraeus should resign just for having an affair?, "Said Napolitano in his column in The Washinginton Post, as quoted by ABC News, Friday (11/16/2012).
Other columnists from The Washington Post, Charles Krauthammer, in a state of suppressed suspect Petraeus when he called the attack on Benghazi is the incident that occurred spontaneously. According to him, the attack was the result of anger over the release of footage of Libyan anti-Islam movie "Innocence of Muslims" on the website You Tube.
As reported by ABC News, Krauthammer added that many conservatives believe the Obama Administration to cover up what really happened in Benghazi.
Petraeus gave testimony about the attack on Benghazi before the U.S. Congress on Thursday, November 15 am local time. He also planned to tell what he knew about the tragedy that killed four U.S. citizens, in front of the Senate.
