Whats World - Pentagon plans to build a network that could rival the CIA. The main function of the Pentagon's new network is to collect and analyze intelligence from within the country and around the world.

The Washington Post on Saturday, said the report quoting U.S. officials said, as part of the project, U.S. military officials would send hundreds of additional spies abroad.

They also plan to overhaul the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), which in the previous decade focused primarily on activities related to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

After the development materialized, DIA is expected to have approximately 1600 "gathering" intelligence information throughout the world. That number includes military attaches and other officials will not disguise, writes the Washington Post.
