to urge end to violence and show support for international efforts to
mediate the conflict.
Churkin

Security Council can not reach an agreement on a formal statement.
In the mechanism of the Security Council, an official statement should be reached by consensus or agreed to by all members. While
the resolution will pass if approved by at least nine members and no
veto from the five permanent members, namely China, Britain, the United
States, France, and Russia itself.
"One
of the members of the Security Council, you know who (the United
States-red), indicated it would reject all the proposals of other member
states," Churkin said that the United States is not willing to call it
directly.
"The actions of the members of that can undermine all peace efforts are underway Egypt and the Middle East," he said.
Israel
on Wednesday launched a major air assault on Hamas militants in Gaza
and resulted in the killing of a Hamas military commander. Israel also threatened to invade the area.
On the same day, the UN Security Council immediately convened an emergency meeting to discuss the Israeli attack. The meeting did not result in concrete action.
Board members could not reach agreement on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The
UN diplomat explained, the failure is caused by the desire of the
Security Council to protect Israel Serika America, which is a close
ally.
A
Security Council diplomat who asked not to be named said the U.S.
delegation had received instructions from Washington not to get involved
in the consultation on the council's official statement about Gaza and
Israel.
Meanwhile,
another diplomat quoted U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, who said
that the protracted debate in the Security Council because the U.S.
wants to ensure the UN action would not be taken megganggu Egyptian
mediation, to end the war.
On the other hand, France, Germany, Great Britain, has filed a proposed draft amendment to Russia on Monday. But Churkin deplore the actions of the three countries that have changed too much from the initial proposal.
"It
(the act of French, English and German) seems like an attempt to make
the issue became protracted. Maybe I'm wrong, but it could be other
states have dismissed the matter in a situation that really does not get
us off no longer," said Churkin told reporters after consultations.
A
Security Council diplomat called the allegations Churkin, about the
efforts of some countries to make matters drag on, such as "nonsense".
